Monthly Newsletter - October 2021
Andrew Hamilton Trophy - 2022
Bowls Scotland (BS) have informed us that the Andrew Hamilton Trophy, (AHT), will take place next year. The 2020 schedule will be used and all we have to do is verify that the venues, chosen at that time, will be available for this term.
We also have to ensure that we have enough players, because of the Covid situation, there are still many people who are not comfortable being in groups of people, or who have found other things to do on a Saturday afternoon.
Therefore, this newsletter is meant to inform ALL players, who feel that they are of a standard which is required for a place in a County team, to let us know that they are available.
We will be holding trials on Sun. 24th. April at 10.00am and 2.00pm, on the greens of Wellmeadow BC, to be fair, we haven’t asked them yet, but that is the normal procedure and I don’t see any reason why it would change. I will be contacting Wellmeadow for their assistance in this matter and don’t really expect any objection.
I would like this Newsletter placed in a prominent position in your Bowling Club, in order that everyone, who thinks that they fill the criteria, can contact the Association Committee with their details.
Obviously, there are players on our books who have long standing County history, but there could be others that we do not know about – now’s your chance – let me know.
The AHT season will run from Sat.7th. May until Sat.18th. June (7 weeks) the ¼ Finals will be played on Sat. 25th. June and the Semi-Finals and Final will be played on Sat.2nd. July at Northfield.
I will send out another Newsletter, nearer the time. This newsletter is to inform you before your Club shuts down for the Winter. I will get this put on the web-site as well and hopefully we will get a positive response.
Stay safe and keep well
