It is with a heavy heart that we have to pass on the news of the passing of Honorary President of Renfrewshire BA Robin Kyle. Robin was a great ambassador for the Association and has stayed activley involved since his year as President 2008. Robin always greeted you with a smile and a welcoming handshake and his infectious appetite for bowling in general made him a very valued member of the extended Renfrewshire BA family.
Robin's funeral will take place on Wednesday 12th August at 12 noon in Greenock Crematorium. Anyone wishing to attend the funeral is welcome to do so, but due to restricted numbers allowed at funerals this is likely to be standing outside.
Our thoughts are with Robin's wife Barbara and the family at this difficult time.

COVID-19 STATEMENT FROM RENFREWSHIRE BA COMMITTEE.
As of today, outdoor activities including bowls can restart but with participants keeping a two-metre distance from others at all time’s and following strict hygiene practices.
We know this announcement will be welcomed by many and will have a positive impact on the physical and mental health of bowlers across Scotland in the days and weeks ahead.
Obviously, we’ve been hopeful all along that some sort of RBA competition could be staged later in the season but you would have to say that there is a very high risk about the prospect of that happening.
There are implications for everyone at this moment in time, and as we continually monitor and review the on-going situation, we as a committee now feel it’s appropriate for all clubs to make a cautious return to any kind of bowling for season 2020 - and there’s a lot of complexity for each individual club to deal with.
With this in mind, the RBA committee will always put the safety and wellbeing of our members at the forefront of any decisions and have concluded that we will not organise any competitions for this season.
Lastly, as we take the first small steps out of lockdown. But we must exercise care and caution and stick to the rules - the virus has not gone away. Before you arrange to meet up - outdoors - with friends/family, PLEASE read the Scottish Government guidance
Stay safe, everyone.
